Flower Pots & Arrangements

flower_pot02I do a few things with my orphan beads. I put them in the soil of plants to cover the soil, almost like covering the top of the soil with river rocks.

Also, for flower arrangements or water plants, I put the beads in the bottom of the vase along with clear glass pebbles. I have one that has a fish shaped bead it in and people always mistake it for a real fish.

Opening and Closing Chainmail Loops

“The goal is to have the two ends lined up exactly with no space between them”

  1. open ringTo open a ring, use 2 pairs of pliers to hold the sides of a jump ring with the opening at the top (12 o’clock).
  2. Hold the ring steady with your non-dominant hand while you rotate the wrist of your dominant (writing) hand, twisting the pliers’ tip away from you (photo).
